    Psychiatry Physician Employment in New York

    HEADLINE: New York City: Two positions available:

    • Director of Psychiatric Emergency Medicine Services
    • Staff Psychiatry position

    PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:

    • Located in New York City area, closely affiliated with a major academic medical center/teaching hospital
    • Seeking Board Certified Psychiatrist for Director of Psychiatric Emergency Medicine Services
    • BE/BC Psychiatrist for staff position
    • Well-staffed with psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses

    AVAILABILITY: Psychiatrists finishing training in 2019/2020 or with previous experience encouraged to apply

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE:

    • Board Certified Psychiatrist required
    • New York State license in good standing required
    • Leadership/directorship experience preferred

    ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

    • Control of psychiatric emergency services
    • Manage MD schedules
    • Represent the department of psychiatry
    • Lead morning meetings
    • Participate in management meetings

    CLINICAL DUTIES:

    • Patient triage and referral
    • Medication management
    • Ordering lab work and exams
    • Supervise interns and residents
    • Involved in Crisis Management
