- Educational Background: A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a recognized Registered Nurse (RN) program with a current licensure in the state of Kansas.
- Leadership Skills: Possess strong leadership abilities and a willingness to collaborate with both professional and nonprofessional personnel.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Complete all required Registered Nurse (RN) record-keeping forms and charts during a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other important events. Ensure that these records are appropriately filed in the resident's chart and/or forwarded to the relevant department.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
- Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including making necessary arrangements for transportation and packing.
- Administer professional services, including but not limited to catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, specimen collection, and other medical procedures as outlined by the facility's policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the facility's consultants as required and implement recommended changes under the guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON).
- Investigate and address complaints and grievances, providing necessary oral and written reports to the DON.
- Exchange nursing reports at the beginning and end of your shift duty hours.
- Conduct daily checks on all residents to ensure that prescribed treatments are administered correctly by nursing personnel/assistants and to assess their physical and emotional well-being.
- Keep the DON informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.
