    Description
    Job Summary:

    We are looking for a Licensed Psychologist to play a key role in a comprehensive pain management program that focuses on enhancing biopsychosocial functioning for individuals dealing with chronic and acute pain. The psychologist will collaborate with various team members to provide evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapeutic interventions.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for Health Plan members referred to the Comprehensive Pain Management Program.
    • Assess and address psychological issues for patients entering the chronic pain program individually and in group settings.
    • Coordinate educational activities for patients in group classes.
    • Participate in staff conferences to select and evaluate treatment programs while redirecting patients to other needed services.
    • Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals and groups suffering from chronic pain conditions.
    • Administer therapeutic procedures such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and relaxation techniques.
    • Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patients for medication and interventional pain procedures.
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and manage medical treatment plans.
    Requirements: Experience
    • Minimum one year of clinical internship with specialized training in chronic pain management.
    Education
    • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology with training in pain management and health psychology.
    • Sixteen hundred hours of post-doctoral training in pain management.
    License, Certification
    • Must obtain Psychologist License (District of Columbia), Clinical Psychologist License (Virginia), and Licensed Psychologist (Maryland) within 6 months of hire.
    Additional Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of biofeedback and cognitive behavioral therapy.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with a variety of patient types.
