This is a hybrid position, with frequent travel to jobsites across South Florida and infrequent travel to projects outside the region as required.

Job Description

Review of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) design documents like drawings, Specifications (Specs), The Owners Project Requirements (OPR), and Basis of Design (BOD) to evaluate energy efficiency.
Perform measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
Provide Prepare and develop Pre-Functional and Functional Testing forms in compliance with green building practices.
Collect data for energy conservation analyses, using jobsite observation, field inspections, or submetering.
Periodic visits to site for observation and acceptance of pre-Functional tests.
Inspect or monitor energy system, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to determine energy use or potential energy savings.
Carrying out Functional tests (FT) of MEP equipment on site to verify the proper installation of new or relocated HVAC equipment per green building practices.
Prepare energy-related project reports or related documentation.
Preparing documents like Current Facility Requirement (CFR)and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) plan, Systems Manual, Ongoing Commissioning (Cx) plan, Cx summary report etc. Post FT
Post- Occupancy review at 10 months post occupancy

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of high-performance building technologies and strategies related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
3 years of experience in the building industry or environmental sciences.
Minimum requires bachelors degree major in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 2 years of training in Mechanical System, building design and Construction.
2 years of familiarity with Commissioning Process as defined by ASHRAE Std and Guideline alternatively, a combination of education, experience and /or training that is equivalent to a degree is acceptable).
Experience reviewing and analyzing design and construction documents.
Experience in equipment startup, Test & Balance, and Functional Testing.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
High technical ability including experience with Adobe Acrobat/Bluebean and Microsoft Office.
Ability and initiative to manage own schedule and work from home.
Retro-Commissioning for existing buildings (preferred).
Experience in MEP/renewable energy design, evaluation, construction, building operations, testing and/or verification (preferred).
Licensed PE, CxA, LEED AP Green Associate or LEED AP specialty credential (preferred).
