    About the Employer

    The District The Lompoc Unified School District offers an outstanding educational program for its approximately 9,800 students. Quality leadership, teaching and support staff are just some of the reasons.

    The District serves TK-12th grade students living in the City of Lompoc, Vandenberg Village, Mesa Oaks, Mission Hills, Vandenberg Space Force Base and rural areas adjacent to these communities.

    The District offers a wide range of programs for students with special needs. There are opportunity classes at the middle and high school levels. Specialists at all levels provide support for bilingual students, migrant students, gifted, and special needs students. The Administration has worked diligently to create an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration at all levels. Collaborative negotiations and proactive problem solving have become institutionalized. The Community Lompoc is located 150 miles northwest of Los Angeles in Santa Barbara County. Its population is approximately 40,000 and the area is known for its mild, smog-free climate. The average maximum temperature is 73 degrees and the average winter high temperature is 63 degrees. Lompoc is the support city for Vandenberg Space Force Base, the aerospace center of the West Coast.

    Lompoc is also known as the flower seed capital of the world, as it produces more than half of the world's supply of flower seeds.

    Community Participation It is the policy of the Board of Education to encourage input in the development of policies and programs for the school district.

    Various organizations and parent representatives have been actively involved with planning education programs.

    All public entities have embarked on a mission of collaboration to educate its citizens, as evidenced by SARB, CODE, and the daytime loitering ordinance.

    Valid Special Education teaching credential Preferred: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or have in progress OR Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential Masters Degree or higher in Special Education or related field such as School Psychology, MFT, Clinical Psychology, LCSW

    • Experience writing behavior plans for students with behavior difficulties.
    • ABA or similar research-based training experience and training.
    • 2-3 years minimum experience working as a behavior or autism specialist or related field.
    Completed application, cover letter, resume, two recent letters of recommendation, copy of credential and copy of unofficial transcripts.
