    Position: Director, Business Operations Location: SSF/Brisbane (onsite/hybrid)

    Summary

    The Director, Business Operations will report directly to the Head of Supply Chain and is accountable for the business operations of the supply chain organization, including:

    • Supporting the Head of Supply Chain with running the Leadership Team meetings, planning for/executing offsites and establishing strategic roadmaps to achieve the vision for Supply Chain
    • Partnering with the leadership team on budget planning, goal setting, and project prioritization
    • Leading key cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives
    • Championing improved communication and collaboration within the LT, across the supply chain organization and with internal/external stakeholders
    • Helping develop a culture of learning and continuous improvement through developing onboarding guides/training, establishing APICS certification program, etc.
    • Drive digitization across the end-to end supply chain processes

    Responsibilities

    • Operational management of the SC Leadership team
    • Support the SC leadership team in establishing strategic goals, budgets and projects
    • Ensure successful, well-run LT meetings in partnership with the Global Head and key stakeholders:
      • drive agenda setting and allocate time appropriately across topics
      • provide context to agenda topics
      • draft agenda/pre-reads and post-meeting minutes
      • document and track action items
    • Develop and facilitate leadership team planning and strategic sessions
    • Design and help execute All Hands Meetings, LT Offsite/Team Building Meetings, Operational Review Meetings, etc.
    • Work with LT to establish formal project tracking and operational performance review meetings and reports
    • Lead initiatives and continuous improvement related to business operations, including establishing best practices and assessing/implementing key performance metrics
    • Improve and maintain communication and collaboration within the LT and across the organization through various creative mediums and utilizing IT tools available (intranet site, Monthly Newsletters, MS Stream Videos, MS Forms)
    • Support creation of presentations for Global Head
    • Manage all SC Training Courses and Curriculum updates in collaboration with Quality. Support targeted effective dates to ensure compliance and on-time metric is adhered to
    • Partner and lead SC Focus Groups with HRBP to develop Engagement Survey Action Plans
    • Collaborate with Finance and LT on consolidating/tracking SC Functional Budget through fiscal year
    • Partner with Learning & Development to provide continuous learning opportunities for SC organization
    • Lead/Sponsor projects and process improvements related to supply chain
    • Lead and/or assist in the creation/modification of business process documents (non-controlled) and GxP controlled documentation as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or similar required; MBA or other related Masters degree preferred
    • 12+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
    • Experience in project and/or process management and operational excellence
    • Experience with biologics and small molecule supply chain
    • Knowledge of packaging and distribution operations
    • GMP/GDP/GCP experience required
    • ERP, IRT and/or Forecasting/Planning applications knowledge required
    • An innovative mindset, with an ability to embrace change, respect differences of opinion, communicate openly and build consensus
    • Strong track record of collaboration, relationship management and delivering results
    • Team player able to organize and influence without authority
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • APICS certification a plus
    • Travel: ~10%

    This will be based at our Brisbane, CA location. The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this position is $190,000 - $220,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position. The actual salary may vary based on various factors including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, internal equity and alignment with market data.
