    The Vascular Center at Mercy Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis.

    As an RVT at Mercy Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions by conducting non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations.

    Your expertise will contribute to the exceptional patient care and diagnostic services provided by our Vascular Center.
    Responsibilities1.


    Perform Vascular Ultrasound Examinations:

    • Conduct vascular ultrasound examinations on patients to assess blood flow, detect abnormalities, and assist in diagnosing vascular conditions.
    • Utilize state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment to obtain clear and accurate images.
    • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.2.

    Patient Care and Communication:

    • Greet patients, explain the procedure, and answer any questions or concerns.
    • Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor, providing emotional support to patients during examinations.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to review patient histories and discuss examination findings.3.

    Record Keeping and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including ultrasound images and examination results.
    • Follow established protocols for documentation and record-keeping, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.4.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Adhere to quality assurance and safety standards in all aspects of ultrasound procedures.
    • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and stay current with industry best practices.5.

    Equipment Maintenance:

    • Perform routine equipment maintenance and quality control checks to ensure optimal performance of ultrasound equipment.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly.6.

    Infection Control:

    • Follow infection control protocols and maintain a sterile and safe environment in the ultrasound lab

    7 Continuing Education:

    • Stay updated with the latest developments in vascular ultrasound technology and techniques.
    • Pursue continuing education opportunities to maintain RVT certification.

    RequirementsEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE* Education and Work Experience:

    • Must possess: High School diploma or GED.
    • Must possess: 1 year of experience in vascular technology.

    SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS* Certification Requirements:

    • RVT-Registered Vascular Technologist, RVS-Registered Vascular Specialist or Registered within 6 months of employment.

    • Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel

    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
    • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
    • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
    • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
    • Other Requirements:
    • Must be proficient with MergePACS and ADP.
