    Job Summary:

    Under general supervision, performs limited installs, maintains and performs limited repairs on various types of air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and systems; performs maintenance, repairs and calibration on heating and air conditioning control devices company wide.

    • Must have reliable transportation to Maguire Nissan of Syracuse
    • Company vehicle will be provided to perform job duties during work hours
    • Standard 40 hour week 730-4pm with required breaks

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties as assigned)

    • Inspect and examine heating/refrigeration and air-conditioning, air compressors, and all auxiliary equipment to locate defects in operations assess repairs as needed.
    • Repair or replace, motors, bearings, belts and other parts, knowledge of proper installation of condensers, compressors, pumps, valves a plus
    • Troubleshoot and determine corrective action for major malfunction and breakdowns of heating/refrigeration and air-conditioning systems pumps, air handlers, fans ducts, dampers and grills
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop drawing and technical manuals
    • Repair and adjust pneumatic controls, lines and fittings, change filters and belts, lubricate and oil equipment according to manufactures specification and industry standards
    • Adheres to a preventive maintenance schedule for air conditioning and refrigeration equipment; troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment a plus
    • Cleans coils and other parts, oils fans, changes filter
    • Ability to communicate with vendors, Dealership staff and management in the coordination of related work scope requirements.
    • Determines parts and equipment needed for maintenance and repair work; fabricates, erects, and maintains sheet metal duct work is a plus; tests, calibrates, and repairs thermostats
    • May order parts and supplies as needed; perform related work on all related and auxiliary HVAC systems and components when possible
    • May be required to assist in facility emergencies after hours (but compensated for time)
    • A general knowledge of automotive equipment is preferred, plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry is needed
    • 100% field engagement
    • On call as position scheduled
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists
    • Work is performed in a dealership setting (lot, showroom, service department and offices)
    • Limited weekend hours may be required
    • Hazards: Slips, trips and falls, ergonomic injuries, and occasional lifting

    Required Experience and Education:

    • High School Diploma or /GED
    • Four years of increasing responsible experience performing work in maintaining, non-residential refrigeration and air conditioning systems and related equipment

    Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

    • Computer software: Microsoft Office to include Word, and Outlook. Excel and CDK a plus.

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.

    Physical Exertion:

    • Performs physically demanding work that requires bending, stooping, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs., working in close quarters, climbing ladders, reaching overhead to make repairs and perform certain tasks including using power and pneumatic tools, and sufficient manual dexterity and vision to perform maintenance and repairs on heating and cooling equipment

    Environmental Conditions:

    • Work is performed in a dealership setting (lot, showroom, service department and offices).
    • Occasional weekend and evening hours are required.

    • Hazards: Slips, trips and falls, ergonomic injuries, and occasional lifting.
    • Safety Precautions: Breaks are encouraged to allow for stretching and training is provided covering slips, trips, and falls, safe lifting and stretching techniques.
