    The successful candidate will support IP systems operations through assisting in the design, development, and management of best-in-class processes and workflows, with a heavy emphasis on IP protection/quality and risk mitigation measures. These will align with Global IP team initiatives, special projects, and processes. This position requires a commitment to troubleshooting, problem-solving data integrity, attention to detail, proven prioritization, organization, and ability to self-manage.     Reporting to the Associate Director, IP Operations and Transformation responsibilities include:

  • Support the stand-up, maintenance, configuration, operation, and optimization of various systems, including Anaqua.
  • Lead small projects, or guide more complex process improvement project activities including implementation of automations and new functionality across a variety of systems such as Anaqua and AcclaimIP.
  • Assist with the implementation of critical metrics and dashboards to support budgetary concerns, departmental metrics, workload distribution, and the like.
  • Partner with collaborators to design, develop and deliver efficiency gains across the department.
  • Influence and collaborate with IP Operations and Transformation teams to implement and measure the results of business process improvements.
  • Find ways to improve and resolve the range of issues that arise during day-to-day IP system management activities.
  • Exercise judgment in managing own priorities and seamless integration with team members and support of team priorities.
  • Employ deep technical knowledge and demonstrated understanding of IP systems and the ability to assess the potential impact of changes on departmental and business unit policies and processes.
  • Apply highly effective organization skills and verbal and written interactions with IP legal colleagues, inventors, business clients, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Independently engages other resources to complete responsibilities.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience using, managing, and programming IP management/docketing software (Anaqua strongly preferred), including report writing.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
  • Preferred skills:

  • Knowledge of patent and trademark lifecycle and processes from invention through maintenance.
  • Experience developing IP operations processes, documentation, and training support materials.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Able to think strategically with excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and project/collaborator management skills
  • Additional Information:

    Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $57,750 to $127,600 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate's qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
