- Type of Facility: SNF/ALF
- Ratios: 1 charge nurse/shift.
- Required Certifications: BLS | RNs: RN license.
- Common diagnosis: Accept LTC, skilled, rehab, hospice, & dementia residents. Wound vac, drains, IV treatments,
- Job Duties: Floor RN and LPN roles are very similar and include: Med and treatment administration, blood
- Experience: Need to have experience in smaller, rural facilities.
- Are there IVs or titratable drips: Antibiotics, hydration.
- Area there Tele monitors: No telemetry.
- Are RNs required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab: May participate in care plan meetings
- Physician availability after hours: Differs per facility. Will contact the office during regular business hours or use
- Interdisciplinary Team: May includes MDS coordinator, dietary, activities, social services/
- Is RT onsite 24/7: No RT staff. O2, nebs, inhalers, established trachs, Cpap, and Bipap.
- Pharmacy onsite: All facilities use local pharmacies with the exception of Fullerton (which uses a Community
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12Hr shifts, 6a6p/6p6a. Will consider block scheduling, dependent on facility no
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Rotated
- Call or
- Floating Requirements: Will work throughout the building. A rare occasion to float to another facility if picking
- Scrub Color: Any color clean, professional scrubs.

LTC/SNF | RN
wound care (including wound measurement), lab draws and specimen collection, foley/cath care, trach care, ADL
assistance, assessment charting, incident reports, monitoring vitals, oxygen administration/management, etc.
Nurses may assist with wound care - facilities try to keep wound care assigned to 1-2 consistent nurses, which
may include DNS. RN ONLY to perform central line (rare) care, IV starts, and admission orders.
