- Must meet all local and state requirements to work as a Special Education Teacher.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education from the state of Nevada.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement specialized instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring that goals and objectives are tailored to meet their unique needs.
- Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in a variety of academic subjects, adapting curriculum and materials as necessary.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student learning and progress.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum and classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed to address individual learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, IEP goals, and areas for growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, IEP meetings, and other relevant information.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administrators to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
