    Requirements:

    • Must meet all local and state requirements to work as a Special Education Teacher.
    • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Valid teaching certification in Special Education from the state of Nevada.
    • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
    • Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to develop and implement specialized instructional strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
    • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring that goals and objectives are tailored to meet their unique needs.
    • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in a variety of academic subjects, adapting curriculum and materials as necessary.
    • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions to support student learning and progress.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum and classroom environment.
    • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed to address individual learning needs.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, IEP goals, and areas for growth.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, IEP meetings, and other relevant information.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and instructional strategies.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and school administrators to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
