    As a Geotechnical Project Engineer - Project Manager , you're a collaborative leader adept at fostering S&ME's cultural values within the geotechnical team. Your ability to cultivate a dynamic and safe workplace encourages all staff to contribute their ideas freely. You excel in nurturing talent, guiding junior staff, and igniting their potential. With a proven history of building client relationships and business development, you demonstrate exceptional skill in strategizing and overseeing geotechnical projects across diverse geological contexts.

    Your Day-to-Day:

  • Field Exploration: Plan, schedule, and supervise geotechnical field explorations across projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Data Analysis Support: Assess and compile intricate geotechnical laboratory test outcomes and field data. Apply robust engineering principles for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, and settlement, offering relevant ground improvement suggestions.
  • Proposal & Report Preparation: Contribute to preparation of project proposals and reports to ensure clients expectations and needs are met
  • Client Interaction: Provide project and client support by interacting effectively on project updates

    • What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or geotechnical engineering (with emphasis on geotechnical engineering) from an ABET-accredited institution
  • A minimum of 8 years work experience in geotechnical engineering
  • A Professional Engineering (PE) license

    • Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

    You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough and uneven terrain
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites
  • Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
  • Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
