    Coastal Carolina University seeks candidates for the Associate Director for Adult Learner Pathways in the Office of Continuing Studies.

    The Office of Continuing Studies at Coastal Carolina University, under the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, is dedicated to serving the diverse educational needs of adult learners in the Grand Strand Community, enhancing the university's connection with the wider community beyond our Conway, South Carolina campus.

    This office actively collaborates with various academic departments and units across the university to foster a culture that supports the continuous improvement and expansion of higher education access.

    Central to our mission is the oversight of academic articulation agreements and partnerships with the South Carolina Technical College System and its 16 technical colleges.

    These efforts are aimed at refining the matriculation process, particularly for adult learners who often enter the university with previously earned college credit.

    We also focus on cross-departmental initiatives to enhance the transfer experience, provide faculty training on transfer credit recognition, and develop comprehensive resources that guide non-traditional students through their educational pathways and options.

    Our primary goal is to unite stakeholders from Coastal Carolina University and our partner institutions to streamline the transfer process, improving military credit mobility, ensuring proper credit recognition, minimizing barriers, accelerating degree completion, developing credit-for-prior learning pathways, and upholding academic standards for all adult learners.

    Oversees outreach to South Carolina Technical College System (SCTCS) and its faculty and staff for the purpose of developing new academic pathways and improving existing academic pathways;· Trains faculty on best practices for awarding credit from other academic institutions and evaluating learning outcomes from non-academic institutions, such as military experience, workforce trainings, etc.;· Assist efforts to develop operational procedures and guidelines for adult learners, who enroll in an online undergraduate degree completion program, through an alternative pathway (i.e.

    credit-for-prior learning);· Manages records for transfer agreements and liaisons with the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards, the Registrar's Office, the Office of Student Accounts, Financial Aid and other university partners;· Leads inter-office Transfer Excellence Council that coordinates to improve transfer experience at Coastal Carolina University;· A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience is required.

    The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the baccalaureate and master's degrees of national and/or regional significance in the arts and sciences, business, humanities, education, and health and human services, a specialist degree in instructional technology, and PhD degrees in marine science:
    coastal and marine systems science and education sciences.

    Required Qualifications:
    A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
