RN NICU Full Time Night Position Overview
Delivers professional nursing care within an assigned unit. Collaborates on care planning with other healthcare professionals. Provides personalized, age-specific bedside nursing care following the nursing process and patient needs. Assumes supervisory responsibilities by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to guide other healthcare staff in delivering patient care. Regularly assesses the quality and efficacy of nursing practices to determine patient objectives. Engages in hourly rounding. Adheres to safety protocols and practices. May occasionally be tasked with overseeing shifts. Supervises other healthcare team members.
Special Skills:
THE RN NICU FULL TIME NIGHTS CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Nursing Degree from an accredited institution
PREFERRED EDUCATION: BSN
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Level II EQ Only: At least two years of current Level III NICU experience, including neonatal ventilator.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: One-year acute care experience preferred, but consideration for recent graduates. Certification in a specialized practice area is a plus.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered Nurse license in Arizona. CPR. ACLS as required by Facility/Department
ER, ICU, Endoscopy, Tele, Cardiac Cath Lab, L&D: ACLS required post-orientation.
- ER: PALS or ENPC required, or obtain within ninety days
- PACU: ACLS needed post-hire within six months, PALS preferred.
- Post-partum, Nursery, L&D: NRP required post-orientation.
- Bariatrics: Certification or specialized training in bariatrics.
- Wound Care: Wound-Ostomy Certification or Wound/Ostomy Care training.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: L&D only: Advanced Fetal Monitoring, or obtain within six months of hire.
