Job summary
New London Hospital (NLH) in collaboration with Newport Health Center (NHC) is seeking an experienced board certified/board eligible Family Practice Physician to join our Primary Care practice as Medical Director. In addition to providing primary care services to a panel of patients, this physician will serve as the Medical Director of the Rural Health Clinic (RHC). The candidate will be fully supported by experienced leadership, nurses, medical assistants and care coordinators to provide team-based care that is grounded by evidence-based best practices.This practice provides comprehensive care and is deeply rooted in the local community.
- Besides normal clinical duties this role will be responsible for NHC clinical leadership and oversight of providers in collaboration with the NHC clinic leadership team.
- Serves as direct report for all NHC providers - physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs)
- Clinical Leadership and Oversight of Providers Ensures compliance with all of the NLH policies and procedures.
