    Description


    Kittle Property Group is looking for a Collections Assistant to join our Corporate team at our headquarters in Indianapolis. This is a newly created position to support the Collections Manager.

    Pay: $20 per hour plus bonus and full benefits

    *This position is 30-hours per week

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Responsible and accountable for following KPG accounts receivable policy, posting rent payments daily on correct accounts and audit ledgers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •Process all current month housing choice voucher payments by the 10th of the month.

    •Process all mid-month payments within 48 hours of receipt.

    •Review and process HAP contracts.

    •Review housing choice voucher and past resident collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.

    •Track abated units, working closing with the housing choice voucher specialist and site managers to minimize loss.

    •Prioritize portfolio so that collection efforts result in maximum benefits and are in line with portfolio cash needs and owner priorities.

    •Log conversations, e-mails, and other communication. Organize documentation to facilitate follow-up efforts.

    •Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

    •High School diploma (or G.E.D.) required, accounting experience preferred.

    •At least 5 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable or a related area.

    •Good written, oral, and reading communication skills to accurately obtain, interpret, and transcribe a variety of communications and instructions.

    •Independent leadership skills as well as supervisory/management experience

    •Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.

    •This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel.

    •multitask oriented, organized, set priorities, and meet deadlines and take pride in one's work.

    TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

    •Collections Training

    •Housing Choice voucher Trainings

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Able to push, pull, lift, or carry objects up to 15 pounds for the dissemination of documents/supplies.

    •Frequently walk, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time.

    •Ability to operate personal computers and other standard equipment (telephone, copy machine, etc.)

    •Occasionally must sit and reach with hands/arms.

    •Continuously able to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption.

    •Close and distance vision is required.
