    Description
    The Network Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning,

    installation/configuration,

    operation, and maintenance of Cisco network infrastructure and related systems. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the IT infrastructure.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide SME support for Sharp's Cisco network environment (LAN, WAN, wireless and network security).
    • Manage network equipment and technology tools.
    • Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
    • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
    • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Contribute to and maintain IT infrastructure standards.
    • Research and recommend innovative, and whenever possible, automated approaches for network and system administration tasks.
    • Provide Tier 2 and other support per request from the Service Desk or in case of events. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
    • Stay current with technologies per Sharp's need.
    • Maintain problem tracking and technical knowledgebase to speed resolution of future service requests.
    • Establish and implement 'bestpractice' standards as well as departmental policies and procedures.
    • Operate within the defined standards of technical infrastructure, policies and practices across the Sharp Division.
    Qualifications and skills

    • A bachelor's degree in business/information systems or computer science.
    • More than 5 years of experience in IT Networking, with proven experience designing, building, and managing Cisco environments (switching, routing, security).
    • More than 3 years of experience in supporting a production environment.
    • More than 3 years of experience in supporting a
    multi-site/multinational

    setting.

    • Preferred certifications in Cisco technologies or equivalent experience.
    • Indepth experience with the following (or similar) technologies:
    • Wireless: Cisco Wireless Solutions (including Meraki)
    • Identity Management: Cisco ISE
    • Nextgen Security: Palo Alto/Panorama and Cisco/Firepower
    • Internet Gateway: Zscaler
    • Email Gateway: Mimecast
    • Cloud Services and

    Hybrid Networking:
    AWS/Azure in combination with corporate systems

    • Candidate must have experience designing and implementing a fullysecured and segmented multipleVLAN environment on Cisco Catalyst 29xx, 37xx, and 93xx switches
    • Candidate must have experience with CLI and ASDM management of Cisco ASA Security Appliances running legacy code (8.2.x) and new code (9.x), including experience migrating ASAs from old to new code versions
    • Candidate must have experience with SNMP,
    standardized/automated

    config back-ups, performance monitoring, high-availability, stacking, 10GB/40GB interfaces, ether-channels, QoS

    • Excellent communication skills working with different levels in the organization, including peers within the department, business leads and vendors.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to follow an incident or problem through to resolution.
    • Extended experience with networking technologies, advanced routing protocols, network security integrations, firewall/VPN technologies and data center designs.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and VMware not required, although strongly preferred.
    • Experience with administration of operating systems and its commands/utilities, virtual server environments and backup software (preferably Veeam).
    • Performs advanced planning and project management for the purpose of developing network infrastructure initiatives. This role is also the technical lead for the execution of the projects.
    • A candidate that understands the principles of ITIL and has worked with a matured ITIL based ITSM (IT Service Management System), like ServiceNow, BMC or Ivanti.
    • Thorough knowledge of infrastructure components and data centers.
    • Uptodate with new technologies and market trends.
    • Ideal candidate would be aware of and have experience in a regulated environment.
    • Excellent understanding of IT security principles and risk management.
    • Experience in change and project management.
    • Candidate must be able to travel between Sharp's US facilities (based in Pennsylvania).
