    DEPARTMENT: YOUTH DEPARTMENT

    POSITION TITLE: YOUTH PROGRAM AIDE

    STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

    SCOPE OF POSITION: The Youth Program Aide will primarily support the Business Manager in implementing the youth programing for Eastside Corps and Community Center. This position will require a "ministry mindset" and an evangelistic approach to children's and youth ministry. The biggest responsibility of the Youth Program Aide is helping facilitate the youth programs at the Eastside Corps and Community Center (i.e. after school programs, VBS, open gym nights, family nights, etc.).

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
    • High School Diploma or GED is required. College degree or experience preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in one or more of the following fields: youth work, programming, teen development, etc.
    • A valid First Aid CPR/AED certificate
    • A valid Washington driver's license
    • Must pass background check and Motor Vehicle Record Check

    SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:

    • Microsoft Word and Excel required
    • Microsoft PowerPoint, helpful

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in facilitating the after-school program, which includes:
    • Programming (Classes, Youth Night, Family Night)
    • Snacks & Other Food
    • Assemblies/Chapel Meetings
    • Signing in and checking out students

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (CONT):

    • Assist as needed in the implementation of programs such as: Troops, YPL (Teen) Nights, VBS, Day Camp, Bible Studies, etc.
    • Maintain Department Logs
    • Create physical files as needed
    • Provide administrative support to department head
    • All other duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
    • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
    • Ability to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    • Ability to lift 20 lbs. (usually file boxes) repetitively and occasionally an item up to 40 lbs
    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
    • Ability to travel

    Retirement Plans: Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at 5 years eligible service time, employee funded voluntary 403(b) options

    Parental Leave: Benefit will be one week (5 business days) of paid leave at the employee's normal rate of pay for births, adoptions and foster placements.

    Sick Leave: 12 days annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after 3 months' service time.

    Paid Vacation: 2 weeks annually accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. 4 weeks annually accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation is eligible for use after 6 months' service time.

    Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year.
