- Design and rebuild lumber manufacturing equipment
- Assist in the development and improvement of lumber processing equipment
- Effectively model detailed concepts and designs using 3D modeling software
- Provide leadership and direction to assemblers and machinists
- Work with company operations to understand complete application and needs
- Coordinate activities relative to the development of new equipment
- Plan and supervise equipment installation, upgrades, and start-ups
- Work to continuously learn and improve knowledge of industry and equipment
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
- 1 years experience in the lumber industry and/or machine design preferred
- Experience with SolidWorks or 3D modeling software required, FEA analysis and PDM experienced is a plus
- Knowledge of hydraulics, drives, welding, and machining preferred
- Machine center alignment and installation experience preferred
- Able to contribute creative solutions and succeed in an innovative environment
- Possess strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $65,000 to $115,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
