    Description
    I. This position is accountable for upkeep and proper functionality of production equipment, machinery, and software systems. This position is also responsible for building equipment and facilities maintenance, which includes repairing, rebuilding, and replacing as needed. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software systems to ensure smooth operation of our assembly process is required. The ability to think, and use our computer systems intuitively is also required.

    I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all existing equipment
    • Repair or rebuild equipment as needed to avoid breakdown
    • Troubleshoot and identify electrical & mechanical equipment problems
    • Responsible for certain software systems that run the equipment, conveyors, and communication with our customer
    • Piece together information from multiple in-house software programs to find solutions to possible issues
    • Interpret drawings and schematics to facilitate equipment repair
    • Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of quality problems or supplies needed
    • Informs supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment and corrective actions taken
    • Monitor facility systems to ensure correct and efficient operations
    • Perform general carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks as needed
    • Wears protective equipment as necessary
    • Recommends new and/or replacement purchases of equipment as required
    • Keep maintenance room clean and organized
    • Follows Lock out-Tag out process
    • Occasionally cover for 3rd shift technicians when needed
    • Cover occasional Saturday overtime when needed

    Requirements

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Strong typing skills
    • PLC experience is a plus
    • Strong ability to learn, and use software systems intuitively
    • Experience with pneumatic controls and equipment
    • Basic understanding of machine control and automation
    • Formal Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance experience or schooling
    • Skill in operation of tools and equipment
    • Ability to safely drive various vehicles (man lift, fork lift, company vehicle, etc...)
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, etc
    • Ability to work independently

    IV. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Employee must have working knowledge of manufacturing maintenance. The individual will be responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and executing long term strategic plans. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.

    Minimum Requirement:
    • High school diploma
    • 2 years of prior maintenance experience

    Preferred:
    • 2 year A.S. degree in Industrial Maintenance or Electronics

    V. LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
    • Ability to write simple correspondence accurately

    VI. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.

    VII. REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

    IX. WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Normal amount of sitting and standing, above average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.
