    Job Description
    Nevada State University invites applications for the position of

    Summer Academy Program Specialist -

    TRIO Upward Bound. The Program Specialist will report to the Associate Director of TRIO Upward Bound and

    work closely with TRIO Upward Bound students to ensure successful matriculation throughout the six-week intensive Summer Academy program.

    The Program Specialist will serve as the project lead on many important programmatic initiatives that impacts student outcomes and the grants' long-term sustainability.

    Core Responsibilities:
    Manage TRIO student mentoring component.
    Create content and facilitate workshops for students and parents.
    Prepare and administer student assessments and evaluations.
    Organize and assist with the execution of student related activities and events.
    Data collection, entry, analysis and report preparation of student progress and outcomes.
    Serve as mentor to students in grades nine through twelve.
    Work closely with the TRIO Upward Bound staff on various aspects of the mentoring component.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
    Two (2) years of experience working with minors.
    Strong organizational skills.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to manage multiple competing tasks.
    Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Two (2) years of experience working with high school aged children.
    Event planning experience.
    English/Spanish bilingual.
    Overcome similar barriers to the target population.

    Work Hours:
    This position will work 35-40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, occasional weekends and evenings.

    Hourly Rate:
    $20.00

    per hour.
