    Description
    :


    • Assists in researching and locating missing documentation or incomplete scans. Identifies and escalates non-approved forms to management immediately.
    • Maintains the scanning equipment and completes the scanner maintenance log. Performs documentation preparation (repairing tears, removing staples, ensuring two patient identifiers on each page, etc.) scanning the paper record, and indexing the scanned image with the medical record number, and document type.
    • Works closely with other members of the HIMS team, IT, clinic staff, Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Guest Services, etc. to ensure chart accuracy throughout all hospital systems.
    • Communicates, when necessary, with clinic personnel for proper and complete documentation and verification for placement into the Electronic Health Record.
    • Troubleshoots and corrects issues relating to misfiled scans, incomplete documentation, image quality, etc. Communicates errors to appropriate staff, as required.
    • Demonstrate critical thinking necessary to prepare documents for scanning, including the identification of documents that are not to be scanned, choosing the correct document type for indexing, and entering the appropriate descriptive information.
    • Utilizes various methods to verify provider, patient, or system information to determine the appropriate resolution and required actions for correction.
    • May also support testing, new versions, system upgrades, new applications, etc. to ensure accurate results with minimal impact to end users, key stakeholders, and functional areas
