Philadelphia Country Club, located just outside of Philadelphia in the heart of the Gladwyne, merges traditional and modern family values. PCC is the finest private club for families in the Philadelphia region and offers activities for everyone who steps foot onto its 300-acre property. The campus includes an expansive clubhouse, 27 holes of golf including the championship Spring Mill Course and the nine-hole Centennial Course. We have a variety of dining options including four dining rooms, an outdoor Terrace overlooking the Spring Mill course, and varied event spaces including an elegant Ballroom ready to welcome up to 400 guests. About the Role:

The Banquet Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the successful preparation and delivery of high-quality food for large-scale events and banquets. This position requires the ability to efficiently prepare and cook large quantities of food while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and quality standards. The Banquet Cook collaborates closely with kitchen staff and event coordinators to meet specific menu requirements and timelines. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential to ensure guest satisfaction. Ultimately, the role contributes significantly to the overall dining experience by delivering well-prepared, timely, and appealing banquet meals.

The culinary program at Philadelphia Country Club is led by Executive Chef Michael Shannon, an award-winning culinary professional recognized nationally for both his technical excellence and his commitment to mentorship and team development. Chef Shannon was named the American Culinary Federation's Chef of the Year in 2021 and was also recognized as one of the Top 40 Club Chefs Under 40 by Club + Resort Chef.

Beyond his personal accolades, Chef Shannon is deeply committed to developing the next generation of culinary leaders. He has successfully mentored numerous sous chefs in their pursuit of positions on the Culinary Olympic Team and has helped guide many team members into executive chef roles of their own. Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English at a moderate level to understand instructions and communicate effectively.
• Experience in quantity cooking and food preparation in a commercial kitchen setting.
• Basic knowledge of food products and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate clearly with other staff members.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties requiring moderate hearing and comprehension.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a banquet cook or in a similar large-scale food service environment.
• 2-year Culinary Degree
• Certification in food safety or culinary training.
• Familiarity with room service operations and banquet event protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong teamwork and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food according to banquet menus and recipes.
• Ensure all food products are handled and stored safely in compliance with health regulations.
• Coordinate with other kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
• Monitor equipment timers and cooking processes to maintain food quality and prevent overcooking or undercooking.
• Assist with room service and banquet setup as needed to support event execution.
