    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the incumbent is responsible for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries foran NCAA Division I program.

    Job Summary:
    • Coordinates and executes athletic training program for assigned sport(s), placing the safety of all student-athletes as the highest priority.
    • Communicates with and informs the Head Athletic Trainer regarding any concerns associated with student-athlete welfare.
    • Supports the athletic training needs of other sports/programs as necessary.
    • Helps maintain inventory of all athletic training equipment.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in athletic training or related field,
    • NATA-BOC certification, and
    • Eligibility for South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control certification.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • At least one year of athletic training experience, preferably at the college level.
    • Experience working with track and field/cross-country athletes.
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary:
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and treat athletic injuries.
    • Ability to execute all required functions of a comprehensive athletic training program.
    • Ability to accept and successfully complete assigned duties and follow all institutional, Big South and NCAA policies and bylaws.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
    • Demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes.
    License/Certification:

    NATA-BOC certification. Eligible for South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control certification.
