    Job Description

    The Senior Director will actively contribute to positioning Technomic as the go-to resource for comprehensive insights and strategic consulting support. This involves not only understanding the intricacies of our research methodologies but also effectively communicating the value proposition of each format to potential clients. The role extends beyond sales to becoming a trusted advisor, guiding clients on how our research, insights, and strategic consulting can significantly enhance their business strategies, decisions, and overall results.

    We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a proven track record in developing new business for subscription services. In this role, you will be tasked with demonstrating and selling our Ignite platform, our leading SaaS platform tailored for the foodservice industry.

    The ideal candidate should have a history of surpassing sales targets, possessing strong prospecting and closing skills. Comfort with telephone-based prospecting and sales development is essential, with limited travel required for conferences and client engagements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and support sales plans.
    • Cultivate new business relationships through effective prospecting.
    • Articulate the capabilities of Technomic products and projects.
    • Provide progress reports to the management team.
    • Represent the company at client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
    • Act as a client-focused liaison to consulting associates, ensuring project completion per clients' specifications and timelines.

    In addition to the outlined responsibilities, the Senior Director, Business Development will play a pivotal role in leveraging Technomic's rich legacy of providing essential research to the foodservice industry. Collaborating closely with the research and insights teams, the candidate will be responsible for aligning the diverse array of research formats, including the interactive platform Ignite, point-in-time reports, and custom strategic studies, to meet the evolving needs of our foodservice clients globally.

    As the industry landscape evolves, the Senior Director will play a crucial part in ensuring that Technomic's research offerings remain innovative, relevant, and aligned with the emerging needs of our clients. This strategic approach will involve collaboration with internal teams to identify opportunities for refining existing research formats and potentially introducing new ones, all aimed at providing unparalleled value to our clients for the next 50 years and beyond.

    Qualifications

    • 10 years of sales experience.
    • Understanding and experience in the foodservice and retail sectors is a plus.
    • Superior new business and prospecting skills are essential.
    • Experience in selling SaaS products.
    • Professional phone etiquette and exceptional conversational skills.
    • Proven track record of developing leads with timely deal closings.
    • Highly professional and a self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work efficiently within deadlines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
    • Utilizes CRM for all conversations, opportunities, and metrics.

    The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 plus commission, depending on experience.
