Safety Coordinator

Location: Illinois

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

As the Safety Coordinator, you will provide Environmental, Health, and Safety oversight to craft, supervisors, and managers with respect to risk management & best practice use while maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and corporate safety to prevent accident, injury, fines, and property loss/damages.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment for all employees by providing training on how to complete daily required tasks as safely and as accurately as possible without incident or injury.
• Perform safety audits and inspections while identifying & resolving safety deficiencies.
• Conduct accident investigations and interact with site management & craft concerning safety related issues.
• Order safety equipment bench stock, issue harnesses & equipment to workers, prepare & train rescue teams, and lead safety committee meetings.
• Evaluate work site to ensure no hazards have been created due to ongoing work, overhead work, moving equipment, or weather conditions.
• Maintain logs and safety equipment, communicating any hazards or problem areas.
• Administer first aid as needed and assist in injury management.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Certifications in OSHA, CSST, CHST, OTI 500, ASP, CSP, and/or BCSP preferred.
• Accident investigation training and rescue training.
• Advanced knowledge of regulations and practical construction safety.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
• Self-motivated ability.
• Capable public speaker.
• Experience working on industrial solar projects is a plus.

• Must be comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments.
