    We are currently in search of a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team here at our Sun Prairie Innovation Center In this exciting new role you will help with new and existing design solutions, identify opportunities for product and/or process change, and provide technical product support within the organization to maintain production and satisfy customer needs.

    This is not a remote position and will require onsite days at both our Sun Prairie and Madison facilities.

    Responsibilities:

    Leadership Accountabilities

    • Technical leadership in product development projects as part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team.
    • Review and approve product documentation and ERP changes
    • Identify opportunities for product improvements or productivity improvement
    • Collaborate with other functional groups as a technical resource for product line.
    • Be a technical voice in design reviews and design decisions.

    Execution

    • Move designs forward to completion through innovation and collaboration
    • Execute to meet project schedules, budgets, and performance deliverables.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement activities such as warranty analysis, cost reduction, and alternate components evaluations
    • Use engineering problem solving tools and methods to systematically solve production or customer issues.
    • Develop cost effective, innovative new product design solutions and improving existing designs
    • Identify opportunities for product or process changes to improve quality or value
    • Prepare engineering specifications
    • Provide technical product support within the organization to maintain production and satisfy customer needs

    Process

    • Ensure adherence to processes such as Warranty, FRACAS, PCO, NPI, and Quality Audit.
    • Collaborate with others in the Engineering team and other departments to accomplish goals and solve issues
    • Provide status and information to keep stakeholders informed and engaged of progress on key activities.
    • Provide prompt communication to stakeholders on important event occurrences.

    Technical

    • Support purchasing of materials:
      • Evaluate alternate components against product specifications
      • Provide input on whether supplier processes are sufficient to meet product specifications
    • Provide application support to Product Management and Customer Service
    • Support manufacturing and operations
      • Ensure product design allows for a robust, quality assembly process.
      • As needed, provide product and process expertise.
    • Follow sound engineering and problem-solving principles in the execution of day-to-day work
    • Participate in NPI activities and Engineering design reviews, including:
      • Provide input to identify new products or product improvements
    • Government and Regulatory Management
      • Know key requirements of safety and regulatory standards pertaining to products
      • Participate in and lead activities to ensure products and processes stay in compliance.
    Qualifications:

    A successful candidate for this role will have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university
    • 3 + years of related experience
    • Experience in the design of medium to high volume products is desirable
    • Experience working within industry codes and standards.
    • Working knowledge of HVAC systems a plus.
    • Strong understanding of filtration and fluid mechanics.
    • Experience bringing new products to market.
    • Working knowledge of SolidWorks; ability to use for design is a plus.
    • Industry experience in consumer products or commercial products that are mass produced.
    • Experience designing products to meet industry regulations, standards, and codes such as those produced or endorsed by ICC, NSF, UL, AHRI, and ASHRAE.
    • Demonstrated understanding of environmental, reliability & qualification testing.
    • Demonstrate high urgency to drive projects/tasks to completion.
    • Ability to plan and manage projects from ideation to implementation
