    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    The primary responsibilities of the Senior Material Analyst are to ensure effective material planning through analysis of inventory, historical demand, future forecasts, and knowledge of supply.

    This is an interactive role with sales, marketing, operations, and supply management developing and optimizing our S&OP business processes.

    The Senior Material Analyst will support site supply and operations management with key projects affecting establishment of master data for the planning of materials and production.

    This role will have a key impact on the management of inventory, supply chain lead-time, and the effectiveness of planning.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Inventory Analysis and

    Demand Planning:
    Establish methodology to review inventory data and demand projections for assigned projects or product categories as assigned Conduct periodic review as required or specified of inventory and compare actual/planned demand Define required master data adjustments based on actual demand and future forecasts Execute corrective action where necessary to address issues with inventory accuracy, demand, or supply; Involve key business associates and management as required Ensure accuracy of the data and tools required to perform these functions S&OP: Work with a multifunctional team to understand and document forecasts and projected demand on key projects or products as assigned Build demand projections into inventory analysis to determine effective master data parameters for ERP utilization; Recommend optimal data parameters to appropriate team members Work with the team to make recommendations to reduce risk and meet customer demand Conduct periodic reviews and actions to improve performance based on supply and demand Supplier Performance and Improvement: Establish methodology to review supplier performance to plan Identify areas of concern and corrective action; Work with management to implement action Establish and maintain key performance metrics and KPI's Participate in team to establish continual improvement of business processes Qualifications KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/


    EDUCATION:
    (Minimum Education and/or Experience required) Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; with courses in Business Administration and three years to five years' experience in production scheduling/planning field, purchasing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    APICs certification preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret inventory reports, contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, accounting reports, catalogs, parts list, reports, schedules, forecasts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from work group and other departments, managers, vendors, shippers, and others.

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications, company policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred


    REASONING ABILITY:
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Analytical skills including root cause analysis OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Demonstrated ability to be a key contributor in a team. Knowledge of ERP, ERP-MDM, Inventory Control, Lean Manufacturing and JIT practices. Computer skills in Word and Excel.
