    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.

    You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

    Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

    Contract Buy Out Program:
    This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).     Works as a physician and is accountable for providing direct patient care to outpatient and inpatient Veterans in accordance with approved clinical privileges in internal medicine and hematology-oncology.

    This responsibility includes collaboration with ARNPs or PAs in the care of such patients.


    Provide state of the art outpatient care to hematology/oncology patients which includes new consultations, initiation and management of chemotherapy, maintaining proficiency with appropriate procedures required for care of such patients, and follow-up care of such patients.


    • Manage chronic medical problems and preventive medicine such as management of problems specific to hematology /oncology patients.
    • Provide consultative care to inpatients with hematology/oncology related issues, including initiating and managing Chemotherapy.
    • Participate in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows on the hematology service.
    • Promote an atmosphere of efficiency and accuracy in the timeliness of completed documents.
    • Support research activities in the Section
    • Collaborate and supervise ARNPs and PAs working in the Section.
    • Actively participate in Section activities to ensure that the Veterans are receiving the best care possible.
    • Will attend Oncology/Hematology related committees, work groups, etc.

    Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

    Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory


    CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)

    Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting


    Work Schedule: 8-4:30PM. Can be discussed after selection
