Successful candidates should have a demonstrated commitment and contribution to fostering and advancing equity, diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The person in this position should be knowledgeable of early childhood development and how young children learn. They should be able to communicate well with families and be sensitive to families from all cultures. Thoughtfulness and the ability to reflect and learn from one's mistakes is essential. Active listening skills are necessary with the children, student assistants, student observers, families and co-workers. It would be beneficial if this person were skilled in problem solving methods.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of an Associate's degree in early childhood education or child development required.
