    Job DescriptionThe Genie Company has been trusted for Generations by Millions of Homeowners.

    This highly visible role will involve close collaboration with Manufacturing and Product Development teams to produce new garage door openers and accessories.

    Responsibilities Supports manufacturing plant to confirm product is built in accordance with customer and company specifications while maintaining smooth production flow.

    Ensures that product quality is attained through fulfillment of workmanship standards and quality program requirements. Identifies and reports quality problems. Recommends and implements corrective action to quality problems. Reviews all related quality documentation and approves as appropriate to ensure product quality. Generates and implements defect-reduction activities. Applies Six Sigma methodology as appropriate in continuous improvement of operations. Analyzes arising quality issues and works with Engineering, Operations and other functional areas to achieve satisfactory resolution. Assertively seeks solutions at the root level of problems. Performs related duties as assigned by company management. Drives vendor improvements in product integrity and process monitoring. Defines and implements locally developed quality plans to ensure end product compliance to specifications and customer expectations. Supervises daily activity of assigned technicians and auditors as well as equipment and facilities allotted. Performs internal audits to ISO9000 series.

    Monitors site-specific R&A, warranty, scrap, and rework and takes an active role in commissioning activities to control and reduce these costs.

    Control the quality of incoming purchased materials and in-house operations by providing details of nonconformance to manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering.

    Assure that corrective actions are taken as necessary. Uses analytical tools for data analysis and provides guidance to the findings. Responsible for maintenance and calibration of all mechanical and electrical test equipment. Respond to complaints about quality from dealers and customers. Initiate appropriate corrective actions and responses.

    Qualifications Ability to lead continuous improvement project Ability to facilitate Kaizen events Possess a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Excellent written and verbal communication skills BS degree in Engineering and 1+ year of experience or 5-10 years of quality engineering experience A minimum of 1+ years demonstrated technical experience in manufacturing related position associated with process improvement activity.

    Demonstrated ability with DMAIC tools through completion of five to seven Six Sigma projects with positive, definable results.

    Excellent working knowledge of the principles and philosophies of analytical problem solving techniques Standard computer skills of word processing and spreadsheet utilization.

    Good presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written.

    Working knowledge of statistical analysis software tools, Minitab preferred Good project management skills Outstanding analytical, logical and critical thinking skills Self-assured, ambitious and goal-oriented Self-directed individual who performs tasks with a positive, team-oriented approach Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.
