- Compiling and tracking vulnerabilities and mitigation results to quantify program effectiveness.
- Creating and maintaining vulnerability management policies, procedures, and training
- Analyze cyber defense policies and configurations and evaluate compliance with regulations and organizational directives.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable cyber defense policies, regulations, and compliance documents specifically related to cyber defense assessment.
- Prepare audit reports that identify technical and procedural findings and provide recommended remediation strategies/solutions.
- Perform technical (evaluation of technology) and nontechnical (evaluation of people and operations) risk and vulnerability assessments of relevant technology focus areas (e.g., container registry scanning, open-source vulnerability scanning, network/host vulnerability scanning, cloud security posture management and source code scanning.
- Knowledge of network security architecture concepts include topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.q., application of defense-in-depth, Information Technology Infrastructure Library [ITIL]).
- Knowledge of how traffic flows across the network (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol [TCP] and Internet Protocol [IP], Open System Interconnection Model [OSI])
- Knowledge of application vulnerabilities. (Web, API)
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms and related vulnerabilities Including dashboards/portals and microservices.
- Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., buffer overflow, mobile code, cross-site scripting, SQL injections, race conditions, covert channel, replay, return-oriented attacks, malicious code).
- Knowledge of penetration testing principles, tools, and techniques.
- Skill in conducting vulnerability scans and recognizing vulnerabilities in security systems.
- Skill in using network analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities (e.g., fuzzing, nmap, etc).
- Skill in conducting application vulnerability assessments.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Handle private and confidential information with physical and ethical care.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in information systems, infrastructure design, or network security.

SUMMARY
The Vulnerability Assessment Analyst performs assessments of systems and networks within the target environment and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations or established policies. They measure and demonstrate the effectiveness of defense-in-depth architecture against known vulnerabilities and will then make expert recommendations to correct and strength security within the system. The Analyst will be customer and partner facing, which will require presentations and content generation.
