- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Provide support in classroom settings, educational activities, and extracurricular events to ensure effective munication access.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to facilitate munication and enhance student participation and prehension.
- Adapt interpreting style and techniques to meet the needs and preferences of individual students.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Stay current on best practices and trends in the field of sign language interpreting.
- Valid EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) certification.
- Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
- Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
