- Conduct patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
- Determine gaps in employee knowledge and education, and analyze data to determine departmental and organizational educational needs
- Develop education plans that prescribe education curricula, alternatives, resources, and quality indicators based on an analysis of educational needs
- Implement instructional programs that utilize adult learning principles to meet educational goals, promote positive learning and practice environments, and ensure safety and comfort
- Evaluate progress toward educational goals and issue reports accordingly
- Maintain and enhance the quality of instructional programs, apply quality improvement processes; advance the NPD specialty through mentoring and contributing to the professional development of others
- Conduct educational activities that integrate best practices based on evidence, demonstrate the ability to conduct a literature review, and promote scientific inquiry
- Collaborate with individuals and groups to facilitate practice and promote quality outcomes; influence organizational plans to include education throughout planning, implementation, and evaluation phases
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
- Current RN license in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by New Mexico required; CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification required within 30 days of employment
- Minimum of three years of directly related experience required; experience in education and teaching preferred

Position Summary: The Nurse Educator will oversee and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and non-clinical education programs. They will identify needs, plan and create instructional programs, evaluate outcomes, and maintain records of all educational activities and programs. This position will also work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to promote quality patient care and safety.

Physical Requirements: This position requires heavy work exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. The position may also require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for hazardous materials.
