    Job Description

    Ocean Conservancy is seeking an experienced human resources executive with expertise in leading justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives to develop a comprehensive HR strategy.

    The SVP will ensure clear policies and efficient systems in all HR areas, including recruiting, professional development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and legal compliance.

    As leader of the JEDI task force, the SVP will advance Ocean Conservancy's commitment to JEDI.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and strengthen human resources policies, systems, and procedures to reflect the organization's strategy, values, culture, and commitment to JEDI.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy with best practices in various HR areas.
    • Lead the JEDI task force to achieve clear goals.
    • Collaborate with the CEO and Executive Team to build a healthy culture.
    • Serve as Ocean Conservancy's liaison with the Environmental Leadership Program.

    Requirements

    • 15+ years of experience, including 8+ years in an executive leadership role.
    • Demonstrated success in building JEDI in an organizational setting.
    • Collaborative leadership style and ability to work across diverse teams.
    • Cultural competency and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Facilitation, training, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; second languages appreciated.
