    Consultants at NERA work independently within a team environment on regulatory, arbitrations and policy related cases. Areas include energy and environmental, competition and regulatory analysis, economic damages and valuation, and other work pertaining to expert testimony in regulatory proceedings and commercial disputes as well as market advisory. Our work includes sophisticated modeling of energy markets, including electricity, oil and gas, power and renewables and transportation.

    Consultants at NERA will have the opportunity to:

    • Apply the technical skills and knowledge gained during their graduate studies
    • Conduct high-powered economic research across a wide variety of industries
    • Develop economic and financial models to answer critical business questions
    • Be a part of the team to contribute in designing and developing energy economy models for policy analyses.
    • Perform cutting-edge economic analysis using NERA's proprietary economic models to solve complex real-life issues
    • Write research reports and client presentations for senior staff and clients to help them make informed economic decisions
    • Influence/direct project strategy, including the preparation and presentation of oral and written testimony
    • Be part of a team to write publishable articles about projects and research work in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Collaborate with in-house experts and outside academics
    • Manage client relationships
    • Develop and strengthen both project and people management skills

    We are seeking candidates with PhD's and/or graduate degrees in economics or a related field with training in econometrics and quantitative methods. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation and project management skills, and the ability to think creatively to solve complex problems. Candidates should have completed their PhD and may have between 2-4 years of academic or relevant industry experience.
