    Job Description:

    Purpose

    The Shift Supervisor oversees all aspects of cottage operations for scheduled shifts; serves as a role model for staff and residents.

    Essential Job Functions

    1. Oversees all aspects of cottage operations for scheduled shifts.

    2. Oversees treatment of youth during scheduled shifts.

    3. Models and monitors to ensure proper implementation of Psycho-Educational Model (PEM) tools (e.g., individualized motivation system, self-government, problem solving techniques) and provides consultation, supervision, and feedback to Youth Care Workers (YCWs) I, II, and III.

    4. Prepares supervision for assigned Youth Care Workers.

    5. Oversees youth admission and departure.

    6. Participates in Safe Crisis Management as needed.

    7. Conducts shift transition meetings and treatment planning conferences and other meetings as scheduled.

    8. Ensures safety in program and non-program areas in accordance with guidelines/procedures.

    9. Ensures adherence to agency policies and procedures (e.g., physical holdings, youth safety, outings, and reporting guidelines, etc.)

    10. Ensures compliance with state, local, grant, contract, or licensure requirements.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job directly supervises 5-10 employees in the Youth Care Worker position. It carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 3-6 months related experience preferred.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    SCM certification, First Aid/CPR certification, valid driver's license
