Journeyman Plumber (ECM)
Job Summary:
ECM Holding Company has an opportunity for a Journeyman Plumber in California. Journeyman Plumbers are responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures for drainage and water systems.
This position might require travel up to 90% of thetime on projects that can last up to 2 weeks or longer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair broken pipes, and clogged drains Remove old plumbing fixtures to install new low flow fixtures.
Utilize hand tools in fitting of valves, couplings and components for tanks, pumps or other plumbing systemDig trenches/install pipes and piping fixtures for water, irrigation, or sewage systemsMount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipesEnsure compliance with building codes and set safety standardsMeasure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs Liaise with contractors , and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificateCompletion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeshipMust have Valid California state plumbing licenseMinimum of 5 years of professional plumbing experience Able to read technical designs and blueprints Proficient with plumbing tools, materials, and equipment Expert knowledge in pipingfitting
Drivers License Physical Demands:
The Plumbers may spend long hours outside and in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
The Plumber will be lifting and adjusting heavy objects, and will come in contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
The Plumber must maintain safety procedures at all times to avoid injury. Plumbers may also come in contact with potential poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness.
