    Description
    The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks a Research Scientist to join the dynamic team in the laboratory of Dr. Julius Zhu. This position offers an exciting opportunity to delve into the forefront of scientific inquiry, integrating innovative technologies to unravel the neural mechanisms underlying behavior and diseases.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD degree(s) by the start date. Preferred applicants will have 5-7 years of experience in molecular biology, advanced electrophysiology, optical imaging or engineering, and/or behavioral analysis, with a track record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. A master's degree with significant experience may also be accepted.

    Candidates with their own grant/fellowship support are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the drafting of manuscripts and grant proposals.

    This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal ( for an additional two, one-year increments) contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. For more information on the benefits at UVA, visit . Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
