    Sr. Quantitative Risk Analyst

    General Summary:

    Provides
    advanced level of financial and quantitative analyses, modeling, and research
    in support of monitoring, assessing, reporting, and collaborating on financial
    and risk management. Provides
    advanced-level analysis in support of recommendations and management
    information related to profitability trends, market risk exposure, prepayment
    activity, market risk modeling practices, and other financial and risk related
    characteristics of the balance sheet.

    Principal Duties and
    Responsibilities:

    • Initiates, evaluates, develops, implements and maintains new or enhanced processes and systems for advanced financial and market risk analysis, both external third-party software and advanced spreadsheet/database/programming platforms.
    • Directs and fully participates in the use, development, and maintenance of various market risk, prepayment, default, and earnings simulation models
    • Responsible for performance monitoring such as assessing the conceptual soundness, evaluating model assumptions and data integrity, testing model accuracy, performing outcomes analysis, and reviewing model governance and control process.
    • Researches, creates, develops, interprets, applies, implements, and presents regular and ad-hoc financial and market risk analyses.
    • Support relationship with senior management and external regulators.
    • Initiates and actively supports efforts to develop, build consensus, apply and maintain the enterprise risk management function and program, especially related to market risk, earnings, capital, and credit risk.
    • Effectively communicate model concepts and results to internal management and external regulators.

    Minimum Knowledge,
    Skills and Abilities Required:

    • Master's Degree in finance, mathematics, quantitative analysis, economics, financial engineering, or similar field of study is required.
    • Industry certifications such as CFA, FRM, and CQF are a plus.
    • A minimum of 5 years of related experience performing economic, financial, and quantitative/mathematical analysis or risk analysis.
    • Advances Excel skills.
    • Strong working knowledge and extensive experience with financial analysis, financial theory, financial mathematics, fixed income financial modeling systems, and generally accepted accounting principles related to derivatives and mortgage securities.
    • Advanced experience with and presenting results of risk modeling systems and practices related to earnings simulations, profitability trends, market risk analysis, and asset/liability management.
    • Advanced working knowledge of one or more of the following quantitative programming, data analysis, database skills, numerical and statistical tools such as: Stata, VBA, R, SAS, Python, SQL, and/or MATLAB strongly preferred.
    • High degree of initiative and independence.
    • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills in conveying concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Working Conditions:

    Requires
    daily use of personal computer and modeling software. Flexibility to work outside normal working
    hours and meet multiple and changing deadlines in a fast-paced
    environment. Ability to pay close
    attention to detail since errors could result in significant monetary loss to
    the organization.
