    Job Description2nd Shift - Team Lead - $24+/hr, Grand Rapids, MICome work for a company that has been in business and growing offering custom pipe fabrication services since 1985 Preferred Skills:
    • Meet or exceed the expectations of our customers by providing a positive customer experience.
    • Direct, coordinate, and assign daily tasks and work assignments for second shift staff.
    • Keep supervisor and management informed of 2nd shift's progress, events, and needs.
    • Provide input on employee performance to the supervisor.
    • Answer the phone after hours and assist employees, customers, and others as appropriate referring serious and/or involved questions and issues to management.
    • Maintain organization, cleanliness, appearance, and safety of the building inside and out during 2nd shift.
    • Train new staff.
    • Assist with OSHA compliance.
    • Read mechanical drawings to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
    • Operate fabrication shop machinery and equipment to make products according to the customer expectations.
    • Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
    • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
    • Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Working knowledge of Company products and specifications.
    • Working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
    • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations applicable to the shop.
    • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Ability and skill to operate fabrication shop machinery.
    • Extreme accuracy when measuring.
    • Effective communication, leadership, organization, stress management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
    • Set a positive example as a leader of the shift.
    • Computer literate.
    • Sound judgment on what should be referred to and handled by management.
    • Basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division skills either with or without a calculator.
    • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
    In this role you will be a working leader that oversees second shift, including directing workload of second shift staff, acting as a liaison to management, maintaining a safe, productive, and professional work environment, and performing various fabrication shop duties as needed.
