    Summary

    Blakemore Children's Center is urgently looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Preschool Cook Do you enjoy working with children and love to cook? This could be a great fit for you
    • Blakemore serves approximately 40 children ages 6 weeks-5 years .
    • Typical work shift is Monday to Friday 8:00-2:00
    • Benefits include paid time off and paid holidays
    Duties

    Our Cook is responsible for all food-related services for the Center. This includes:
    • Preparing nutritionally balanced, attractive family-style meals and snacks for children and staff
    • Planning the week's menu and purchasing all food and misc. items needed for the week
    • Maintaining the kitchen and eating areas in a clean, hygienic, safe and presentable condition
    • Occasionally aid in the supervision of children during meals or snack or to assist in the classroom in case of an emergency
    Requirements

    Qualifications:
    • Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), must be able to pass a background and abuse registry check, and must be eligible to work in the United States.
    • Relevant experience in a childcare facility kitchen, commercial kitchen, school cafeteria or its equivalent preferred
    • Possess knowledge of basic principles of good nutrition
    • Ability to plan, shop, prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks
    • Experience with the USDA/CACFP Food Program preferred
