Job Description:

Schedule: Weekends only, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. One 8-hour shift per pay period.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program. DPT also accepted (required).
Master's Degree preferred.
Completion of Basic Life Support Training - BLS will be assigned and successfully completed within the first 90 days of employment. Must be maintained thereafter (required proficiency).

Licenses and Certifications:

Physical Therapist (PT) - KSBHA Licensed or eligible for license to practice physical therapy in the state of Kansas (required).

Responsibilities:

Interprets the physician referral using available medical information.
Performs and documents the initial examination, testing, evaluation, and diagnosis.
Develops the plan of care including frequency, duration of treatment, and intervention goals.
Reviews documentation timely, re-examines, and revises the plan of care when necessary.
Educates patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary staff.
Delegates and instructs physical therapist assistants on provided services.
Documents discharge plan and summary when required.
Oversees documentation for billing, delegates tasks to rehabilitation technicians under supervision.
Coordinates with other practitioners for patient care integration.
Supervises and educates physical therapy assistants, techs, and students.
Provides education and training programs for staff and community organizations.
Offers information to insurance and legal entities.
Completes assigned competencies, mandatory education, and organizational tasks.
Practices within the guidelines of KPTA/APTA/Kansas law/Federal law.
Accepts committee/task force assignments and participates in research for performance improvement and evidence-based practice.
