    Substation Wireman

    From substation routine maintenance, inspection, and repairs to equipment design, engineering, and installation, RMS Energy offers a variety of solutions to fit the energy-related needs of our customers.

    To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking Substation Wireman to join our dynamic and fast-growing team.

    By carefully constructing and maintaining these systems, the Substation Wireman supports the seamless operation of electrical equipment, contributing to the overall reliability and performance of electrical installations.


    Responsibilities:

    • Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment, ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
    • Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documents to plan wiring layouts.
    • Measure, cut, and install wires and conduits, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
    • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components, ensuring proper electrical connections.
    • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices.
    • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
    • Provide training and guidance to less experienced members on the team.
    • Perform emergency repairs to restore power or prevent electrical hazards, often working outside of normal business hours

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience
    • Post-secondary education in electrical technology or a related field, with many holding a certificate or associate degree.
    • Extensive experience in electrical systems, circuitry, and safety protocols
    • Intermediate to advance knowledge in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to travel at least 75%
