    Summary You will serve as a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST in the EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU. Responsibilities You will assist in processing informal and formal Equal Employment Opportunity complaints.

    You will counsel complaints at an informal level, preparing counselor's reports, working issues of settlement, and alternative dispute resolution program.

    You will provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on the Equal Employment Opportunity processes.

    You will consult regularly with supervisors, HR staff, union officials, and other employees to locate and define barriers, identify reasons for these barriers, and propose specific action items to correct them.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications DA-03 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Interpreting employment policies, procedures, and guidance in regard to Equal Employment Opportunity; 2) Preparing various correspondence and reports to complete work assignments; 3) Making corrections, deletions, and revisions to records; 4) Maintaining files and records.

    DA-02 Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year at or equivalent to the DA-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

    General experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Analyzing problems to identify significant factors; 2) Gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions; 3) Planning and organizing work; 4) Communicating effectively orally and in writing.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
