- Lead the systems engineering efforts for the design, development, and deployment of GPS satellite systems, ensuring adherence to project objectives, requirements, and schedules.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for GPS satellite systems, providing expert guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and project managers, to define system architecture, requirements, and design solutions.
- Conduct system-level analyses and assessments to identify technical risks, challenges, and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies accordingly.
- Manage the integration and testing of GPS satellite systems, overseeing verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with performance and reliability standards.
- Interface with government stakeholders, including SSC, Air Force Space Command, and other relevant agencies, to communicate technical requirements, status updates, and project milestones.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning within the systems engineering team.
- Stay current with advancements in GPS satellite technology, industry trends, and best practices, and apply knowledge to enhance system performance and capabilities.
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on GPS satellite systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, and operation of GPS satellite systems, including knowledge of GPS III and future generations.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, processes, and methodologies, with experience in system architecture development, requirements management, and integration.
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools and software, such as DOORS, SysML, and MATLAB, for requirements management, modeling, and analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with stakeholders at all levels.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain top secret security clearance.
