Job description

Status: Full Time Hourly    FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of Position: Reunification Specialist is to initiate, organize, plan, develop, and ensure implementation of direct services to assigned youth and their families. YAP's definition of "Family" encompasses an array of current and potential caregivers and guardians to include biological family, extended family members, foster family, and 'fictive kin' or kin caregivers who have a significant relationship with the youth. All service plans based on the strength-based approach using the wrap around model. 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or similar field (relevant experience may be substituted for degree) 
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in child welfare, foster care, juvenile justice, or community-based support programs.
  • Knowledge of community and community resources 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus. 
  • Strong communication and organization skills 
  • Ability manage caseloads and work flexible hours (may require some evenings and weekends) 
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.
