As a Workers Compensation Matter Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our matter management processes, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.



    Responsibilities

      Efficiently and accurately process new Workers Compensation matters, including capturing master and companion cases.
    • Ensure accurate capture of case details, including injury dates, body parts, involved parties and their associations, pending hearings, upcoming appearances, and medical appointments.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of diverse case handling and matter cycles as it relates to full referrals, limited assignments, reopened, and closed matters.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of California Workers Compensation board and regulations, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.
    • Work closely with Claims teams to confirm the accuracy of referrals and other case information.
    • Maintain data integrity throughout the matter lifecycle, including timely updates to case information and documentation.
    • Coordinate with Hearing Rep Unit to ensure Lien Hearings are covered to avoid penalties for non-appearance.
    • Responsible for mirroring data captured in EAMS to case management platform.
    • Serve as a point of contact for the business and technology teams, providing critical insights and feedback to support ongoing process improvements.
    • Collaborate with Support Staff, Attorneys, and Managing Counsel to meet department objectives in an in-house Staff Counsel environment.



    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience in a California Workers' Compensation Staff Counsel office, working with Managing Counsel, Attorneys, and Claims.
    • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple matters and support multiple attorneys.
    • Strong knowledge of California Workers Compensation operations.
    • Fundamental understanding of claims processes/operations.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage complex data and documentation.
    • Proficiency with relevant technology platforms and software, with the ability to adapt to new tools and systems as needed.
