    Position Description:

    Under the supervision of the Associate Vice Provost (AVP) for International Affairs, the Admissions Counselor III (International Recruitment Coordinator) is responsible for implementing the University's international recruitment strategy, with the primary focus of growing international undergraduate enrollment. The position is the initial point of contact for many prospective students, applicants, and overseas agents. The position requires a great deal of collaboration and information sharing with stakeholders across campus.

    The international Recruitment Coordinator may travel internationally and to local events, to represent the University of Louisville at recruitment/education fairs, high schools, government/sponsoring agencies, and partner institutions. The International Recruitment Coordinator will discuss policies/procedures required for international admission, housing, scholarships/financial aid with international prospective students, families, and counselors, and demonstrate self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking in prospect development, yield enhancement activities, information services and problem resolution. Under the guidance of the AVP for International Affairs, the International Recruitment Coordinator will develop and maintain an active International recruitment plan and be responsible for implementing this plan.

    This position may require the ability to travel domestically and internationally and to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Stay current on global recruitment trends (degree level, majors, geopolitical realities) to assist with developing a cogent and feasible international recruitment plan.
    • Develop and conduct training for agencies, focusing on the international admissions process and requirements, and providing information about arrival and orientation dates, airport pick-up, housing, and other pre-arrival information.
    • Create and disseminate a quarterly newsletter for agents, keeping them connected to UofL.
    • Serve as a representative of the University of Louisville to perspective students, agencies and government/sponsoring organizations.
    • Participate in international recruitment fairs (both in-person and virtually), as assigned.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across campus to inform them of international recruitment activities, providing guidance as necessary. This includes, but is not limited to, schools and colleges, academic departments, the Office of Admissions, and the Graduate School.
    • Serve as the International Center's primary liaison with the Office of Admissions and Graduate School, regularly attending those departments' meetings as requested.
    • Follow-up with prospective students and applicants in a timely manner.
    • Provide prospective students with accurate information about the international admissions process and requirements, housing, scholarships/financial aid, campus safety, and employment opportunities during and after graduation.
    • Develop and implement a communication plan for prospective students (and their families/sponsors) and maintain effective communication throughout the recruitment and application process.
    • Perform academic credential evaluations of prospective international student files, as needed.
    • Advise admitted students on the visa application process and documentation required for a visa application.
    • Collaborate with ISSS to design and deliver a comprehensive international student orientation and other cultural adjustment initiatives.
    • Serve on the University's International Recruitment Committee (IRC).
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree.
    • Five years of related experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with technology (PeopleSoft, social media, MS office, SLATE-CRM, Terra Dotta etc).
    • Experience within international education and the recruitment of international students; specifically for an international office or in a college or university setting.
    • Experience recruiting in another country.
    • Experience working in international admissions or in an international student services capacity.
    • Experience working the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
    • Experience with CRMs and marketing.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
    • Proficiency in a foreign language.

    • Record of active participation/engagement in relevant professional associations: e.g., NAFSA, AIRC, etc.
    • Strong computing skills and expertise utilizing CRMs and social media platforms.

    • Effective communication in individual advising settings and group presentations, including virtual/remote delivery.

    Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
