    The Mankato School District has positions available for Health & Wellness Paraeducators. Positions are available in Elementary and Secondary school sites. Both full-time and part-time positions are available as soon as possible for the school year.

    Summary of Duties:
    Under the supervision and direction of a classroom teacher, the Health & Wellness Paraeducator assists the Teacher in maintaining classroom organization and applying evidence-based interventions to support the behavioral needs of students as directed by supervising teacher. Attends to the physical needs of the student including behavioral de-escalation, transporting, feeding, dressing, bathroom needs, and other needs as directed by the supervising teacher and or principal. Provides support to students on post-high school skills, jobs, employment, and service learning in a variety of locations in the community. Assists in supporting medication needs under guidance and delegation by School Nurse.

    Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to qualify for this position:
    • 60-semester credits (or two years full-time at an institute of higher education)
    • or an Associate's degree (AA, AS, AAS) or a cut score of at least 460 on the ParaPro Assessment
    Pay:
    Starting at $19.00 per hour.
